About the event
The Magic Fish is a puppet show inspired by childhood experiences growing up in the Pacific NW. The story is informed by the Irish fairytale Soul Cages, Punch and Judy techniques of historic puppetry and contemporary mask and mime. It follows a little boy who does not heed to his mom's call nor to convention and meets with his own adventures, only to return home wiser. This performance engages audiences of all ages, combining innocence and sophistication to address ideas of ethics, the environment and transformation. Leaven Dream Puppets with puppeteers, David Woodin and Anca Hariton offer an original cast, script, set, and choreography. The show runs 30 minutes with additional 15 minutes for questions and meeting the puppets. Audience comments: “We were treated to a fantastic puppet show today! The kids were enthralled!” This project is funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council.
